Types of battery system set-ups
A Standard Single
Battery System is when all the batteries are connected in Parallel
to make a 12 volt system or in Series
to make a 24 volt system.

A Standard Dual Battery System is when the batteries are connected to an Isolator Switch in 2 groups, commonly called a Coherse Switch, then either group, Battery 1 or Battery 2, can be selected to power the load. With this arrangement one set of batteries supplies the power, while the other set is held in reserve. Same principal applies when a Vanner battery isolator is used in a battery set-up.
